Where are the tournaments going to take place?

All tournaments will be held at Egerton Football Club, Mereheath Lane, Knutsford, Cheshire, WA16 6SL.  We are less than 10 minutes from the M6 and M56 motorways.

Will there be catering facilities on site?

Hot food (bacon / sausage baps, burgers, hot dogs) will be available to purchase in the clubhouse on all tournament days.

Hot and cold drinks, sweets and snacks will also be on sale.  Please note we do not have provision to take card payments so please ensure you bring plenty of cash with you.

Where can I park?

Egerton FC has a large car park which will be operated by parking attendants on each tournament weekend.  We expect that the Car Park will be extremely busy, please leave plenty of time and car share where possible. Car Parking is charged at £2 per car (payable in cash). Please arrive early to avoid traffic congestion and park responsibly. 

Will there be a Manager’s Briefing?

There will be a Managers Briefing at the yellow tent in front of the 3G Pitch 30 minutes before kick-off. 

Who can play in the Egerton Classic Tournaments?

The competitions are open to players who are registered in their current leagues for the 2019/2020 season.  We want all children to have fun and to have an enjoyable experience at our tournaments and only accept entries from established, grassroots, affiliated teams who are currently playing in an FA affiliated League. Any cases of misconduct will be reported to Cheshire FA. 

Are Academy players allowed?

No Academy players are permitted to play in any of our Tournaments.

NB.  We will ask for ID cards to be produced if there is any doubt as to a player’s eligibility to play so please bring them with you.

What kit do I need to bring for my team?

All players need football boots / trainers and shin pads.  Some games may take place on our 3G Pitch so please bring appropriate footwear for Grass and 3G. The tournaments will take place in all weathers so it is advisable to bring raincoats, sun protection etc as required. 

Can I add an extra player or two into my squad?  

Squad sizes are as stated in the tournament rules for your age group.  There will be no exceptions to the maximum squad size.

Will we be playing teams of a similar ability?

To ensure the best possible experience for all teams, we will establish groups based on ability.  Upon registration for the tournament, you will have selected your team’s level of experience (beginner / intermediate / advanced) and we will build the groups within these categories.

We can no longer make the tournament.  Can we get a refund?

There are no refunds for teams that drop out with less than month to the tournament, unless there are exceptional circumstances.

Are teams to be entered in age groups as per this year’s season or the coming year’s season?

This is an end of season tournament so team’s should enter as per the current season’s age groups (2019/2020).

What size pitches will my team be playing on? 

Full details of pitch specifications, goal sizes, and ball sizes for each age group can be found in the Tournament Rules, on the main webpage.  When you register your team in the Tournament, you will also receive a Manager’s Welcome Pack which will include all these details.  

Are there any specific site rules?

Egerton is a No Smoking site.  NO dogs are allowed on site (even small ones). We thank you for respecting our Club and our property. 

When will I receive details of my fixtures? 

We aim to send fixture details out to managers at least a weeksbefore the tournament weekend that your group will be playing in.  However with last minute additions and changes to team listings, this isn’t always possible.  Please check this page for notice of when to expect fixture details.
