We run an annual football tournament at Egerton usually across 2 weekends in May. Our tournaments are for everyone! We welcome entries from boys and girls teams.
Egerton Tournament 2024
After a very successful return last year, we are delighted to announce that we are running a tournament for end of season 2024.
We can’t wait to welcome you all back to Egerton again for 2 weekends of fantastic football.
Bookings are now live. We are using Tournify software to administer the bookings, link below. Payment needs to be made at the time of booking to secure your places.
Egerton Football Tournament Dates
Below are all the details you will need to know about all of the matches to be played during our 2024 Egerton Football Tournament. Choose your age groups based on 23/24 season.

Information And FAQs
Where are the tournaments going to take place?
All tournaments will be held at Egerton Football Club, Mereheath Lane, Knutsford, Cheshire, WA16 6SL. We are less than 10 minutes from the M6 and M56 motorways.
Will there be catering facilities on site?
A selection of hot and cold foods will be available from a variety of mobile catering facilities on all tournament days.
Hot and cold drinks, sweets and snacks will also be on sale.
Where can I park?
Egerton FC has a large car park which will be operated by parking attendants on each tournament weekend. We expect that the Car Park will be extremely busy, please leave plenty of time and car share where possible. Car Parking is charged at £5 per car (payable in cash – we cannot take card payments). Please arrive early to avoid traffic congestion and park responsibly.
Will there be a Manager’s Briefing?
There will be a Managers Briefing in the centre of the 4G Pitch 15 minutes before kick-off.
Who can play in the Egerton Classic Tournaments?
The competitions are open to players who are registered in their current leagues for the 2023/2024 season. We want all children to have fun and to have an enjoyable experience at our tournaments and only accept entries from established, grassroots, affiliated teams who are currently playing in an FA affiliated League. Any cases of misconduct will be reported to Cheshire FA.
Are Academy players allowed?
No Academy players are permitted to play in any of our Tournaments.
NB. We will ask for ID cards to be produced if there is any doubt as to a player’s eligibility to play so please bring them with you.
What kit do I need to bring for my team?
All players need studded football boots and shin pads. Games will take place on our 4G Pitch. The tournaments will take place in all weathers so it is advisable to bring raincoats, sun protection etc as required.
We can no longer make the tournament. Can we get a refund?
There are no refunds for teams that drop out with less than month to the tournament, unless there are exceptional circumstances.
What size pitches will my team be playing on?
Full details of pitch specifications, goal sizes, and ball sizes for each age group can be found in the Tournament Rules, on the main webpage.

When you register your team in the Tournament, you will also receive a Manager’s Welcome Pack which will include all these details.
Are there any specific site rules?
Egerton is a No Smoking site. NO dogs are allowed on site (even small ones). We thank you for respecting our Club and our property.
When will I receive details of my fixtures?
All the information about your team fixtures, timings of the games etc can be found in the Tournify app.
We suggest that you download the app before the Tournament weekends and familiarise yourself with its layout and content. All scoring will be done live via the app on the day, so you can see results in real time.
Are teams to be entered in age groups as per this year’s season or the coming year’s season?
This is an end of season tournament so team’s should enter as per the current season’s age groups (2023/2024).
Will we be playing teams of a similar ability?
To ensure the best possible experience for all teams, we will establish groups based on ability. Upon registration for the tournament, you will have selected your team’s level of experience (beginner / intermediate / advanced) and we will build the groups within these categories.
Can I add an extra player or two into my squad?
Squad sizes are as stated in the tournament rules for your age group. There will be no exceptions to the maximum squad size.
