Egerton Ladies made HISTORY on Sunday 30 April 2023 … being the FIRST Egerton Ladies team to win a League Title.

This is even more special, as it is Egerton Ladies 10th Season representing the Club.

In a season blighted by injuries,  the Ladies only lost one game all season, and avenged that loss on Sunday with a resounding 5-1 victory over 2022 champions Willaston Ladies.

Manager Jason Wright said :

“ This has just been the best season ever, I could not be prouder of this group of women. They deserve all the credit and plaudits they get, it’s an absolutely phenomenal achievement.I would like to Thank Tom O’Donnell (Club Chairman) and Ollie Strauss (Coach) and everyone at the club for their unwavering support over the last decade.”

Well done to everyone in the team, amazing result.

We’re backing Play Safe https://www.egertonfootballclub.co.uk/were-backing-play-safe/ Wed, 17 Nov 2021 13:20:06 +0000 https://egertonfootballclub.co.uk/?p=12137 Egerton Football Club is lending its full support to Play Safe – a national FA-led campaign to raise awareness of the importance of safeguarding in football.

Egerton Football Club is lending its full support to Play Safe – a national FA-led campaign to raise awareness of the importance of safeguarding in football.

Play Safe is being run in partnership with the NSPCC and has the full backing of the Premier League, EFL, Barclays FA Women’s Super League and the FA Women’s Championship. It’s also supported and being run across every other level of the game.

The main element of Play Safe is a series of short films which emphasise the importance of clubs such as ours having safeguarding as an everyday reality. The films also explain to parents/carers and children themselves know what to do if they feel unsafe or worried, because nothing matters more than making sure football is safe for everyone, especially children and young people. You can see these films below.

“As a youth team coach, I will be working with my club to ensure we support the Play Safe messaging,” says FA Chief Executive Mark Bullingham. “I am also pleased that the campaign has the support of the former footballers with lived experience of abuse in football, who are on our Survivor Support and Safeguarding Advisory Group. The Group has collectively said:

“Learning from the past is crucial, so that we can prevent the horrific experiences that happened to us and so many others in football, from happening again.

“As a group of survivors, we fully support the ethos and important messages that Play Safe conveys – whether to club officials, parents/carers and or vitally, children and young people themselves. Equally important is that Play Safe is not a one-off campaign – it will be used at key points in the football calendar to remind everyone in football, that children’s welfare and keeping them safe, should be at the heart of all that we do.”

As the Survivor Group points out, you’ll see Play Safe appearing at various points throughout the season to keep safeguarding front of mind in football. Together, we want to do everything we can so everyone – particularly children and young people – has a consistently positive experience of our great game.

Following changes in government guidance this week, our obligations as a club have significantly increased and we are asking all parents to support the new procedures we have put in place to ensure that we are able to continue playing and offering training at Egerton over the coming weeks.

Our method statements, risk assessments and forms to be completed (for managers and officials) have all been reviewed and updated and can be found in the links below (pls link to the attached docs).

NHS Track and Trace QR codes are now in place around the site. ALL adults over the age of 16 who are attending the site for either matches or training MUST check in with a QR code using the NHS Test and Trace App). For those who don’t wish to use the app, you must notify your team manager and pass your details onto them so they have a record of your attendance.

The obligation to do this has increased dramatically and unfortunately for teams not provide this information we will not be able to allocate pitches in subsequent weeks. Up to date, we have relied on managers collating this information and holding it secure for 21 days. However, increased obligations place more responsibility on the club which we must now share amongst us if football is to continue in the near term.

Similarly, this obligation now applies at training – and where information is not forthcoming – we will not be able to allocate sessions to teams. We do hope you understand that these requirements come from the latest set of government obligations that we must follow. Thank you for your continued support.
